Ryan Blaney has secured the pole position for Sunday's Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol, edging out Kyle Larson by a margin of just 0.018 seconds.
Blaney navigated the 0.875-mile Iowa Speedway in 23.474 seconds (134.191 mph) on his second qualifying lap to take the top spot, knocking Larson off the provisional pole. Team Penske teammate Joey Logano posted an identical time later in the session, but Blaney's earlier effort was enough to secure the Busch Light Pole Award.
This is Blaney's first pole at Iowa Speedway, where he won the inaugural NASCAR Cup Series race in 2024. It's also his second pole of the season and the 15th of his career. Notably, Blaney has only once before converted a qualifying pole into a win, which was after his last pole at EchoPark Speedway (Atlanta) in July.
Defending series champion Larson will start alongside Logano on Sunday, earning the second starting spot over his teammate due to an owner points tiebreaker. Brad Keselowski qualified fourth but suffered damage to his car when he spun and backed into the outside wall during his second qualifying lap.
The rest of the top 10 starters include Tyler Reddick (fifth), Ty Gibbs and Austin Dillon (tied for sixth), Connor Zilisch (eighth), Ross Chastain, and Erik Jones.
