A 14-year-old girl was shot in the leg in St. Louis on Saturday evening, after a dispute at a Jimmy John's restaurant escalated into gunfire.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting occurred near the intersection of Vandeventer and Laclede avenues, shortly before 6 p.m. The teenage girl was taken to a local hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
Police say the shooting was linked to a dispute involving the girl's mother and several individuals associated with the Jimmy John's in the 3800 block of Laclede. The mother's connection to the restaurant remains under investigation.
Court documents allege that Adam White, a 27-year-old Jimmy John's employee, got into a verbal argument with a former employee, which continued into the parking lot. As the former employee and her family drove away in a vehicle, White allegedly fired multiple rounds into its rear, striking the teenage girl in the left leg.
White was later taken into custody and charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, and other felony offenses. He is being held without bond pending trial.
