A Houston resident was left shocked after reviewing footage from his Ring doorbell camera, which showed a DoorDash delivery driver arriving at his doorstep naked. Kiante Matlock, the homeowner, told a local news station that he had been playing video games inside his home when his daughter alerted him to a notification on his phone indicating that his Burger King order had arrived. Matlock initially thought the driver was wearing a onesie, but upon closer inspection, he realized the driver was completely naked.
When Matlock went to the door, the driver had already left. Matlock did not eat the food that was delivered and has since received a refund from DoorDash. A spokesperson for the company stated that they had permanently removed the driver's access to their platform and were cooperating with law enforcement in any investigation that may follow.
DoorDash has emphasized the importance of reporting any concerning or inappropriate behavior by delivery drivers, and has encouraged customers to contact law enforcement if they feel unsafe. The company has also reminded customers that they can report such incidents through the app.
The Houston police department has advised residents to report any concerning behavior and to preserve surveillance footage or other evidence in case of an investigation. Depending on the circumstances, criminal charges may be possible following an investigation.
Matlock has spoken out about his experience in an effort to raise awareness and help protect others from similar incidents.
