A dramatic scene unfolded on a busy Pennsylvania road in Prospect Park on Monday morning when a 44-year-old woman riding an e-bike collided with a Volkswagen Beetle at an intersection along Route 420. According to Prospect Park Police Chief Dave Madonna, the woman was traveling at an estimated 20 mph without a helmet when the crash occurred.

The woman suffered several broken bones in the accident, but was fortunate to have received help from a group of bystanders and police officers who rushed to the scene. Body camera video shows the dramatic moment when roughly six people, including officers, worked together to lift the vehicle and free the woman trapped underneath.

Among those who responded to the crash was FedEx driver Carl Wise, who described his actions in an interview. "I'm no hero," he said. "I'm just a guy doing a job, that's all." Local business owner Chrissy Vollmer also witnessed the rescue and described hearing the woman's cries for help.

The Volkswagen driver involved in the crash is not facing charges, but the e-bike rider may receive a traffic citation pending the outcome of the investigation. Police Chief Madonna expressed concerns about the increasing number of e-bike crashes in the area and questioned whether enough is being done to prevent such incidents.

The woman was taken to Lankenau Hospital for treatment and underwent surgery for a broken collarbone and other injuries.
