Ex-Biden staffer says liberal podcast temporarily removed critical Piker clip

A clip from a recent episode of the popular podcast "Pod Save America" has been at the center of controversy after it appeared to be temporarily deleted from social media platform X. The clip, which featured hosts Chris Hayes and Alex Wagner discussing the ties between Michigan Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed and far-left streamer Hasan Piker, was critical of Piker's rhetoric.

The podcast had welcomed Chris Hayes for a Sunday episode to discuss the state of Democratic politics, during which the topic of Piker came up. Hayes and Wagner spoke critically about the controversial streamer, who has faced scrutiny for his comments on issues such as the September 11 attacks and Hamas. Hayes suggested that Piker needs to be more mindful of what he says in order to contribute to the success of the Democratic movement.

However, former special assistant to President Biden Michael LaRosa noticed that the clip was deleted from X, leading him to accuse "Pod Save America" of censorship. He noted that the podcast reposted a longer version of the clip after hours of backlash online. Crooked Media, the company behind "Pod Save America," did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The controversy surrounding Piker's association with El-Sayed has been ongoing, with some Democrats questioning whether he can help the party in general elections while others have criticized his rhetoric as too inflammatory.
